Week of 1/19-1/22

PART A
​ABSENT 1/19 OR 1/20
​
1. Observational Drawing
  20 minute (or more) observational drawing. Use all the drawing techniques we have learned so far. Contour line, gesture line, value etc... This should be a highly developed drawing and show evidence of at least 20 minutes of work.
 Upload  picture Blackbaud under  'Virtual Drawing"' by 4:00 pm Wednesday 1/20.

2. Artist of the Week
     1. Go to this website

     2. Skim through the 18 contemporary artists
     3. Choose a different artist each week.
     4. Upload this artist worksheet to Blackbaud with your drawing.

PART B
​​ABSENT 1/21 OR 1/22
​
1. Observational Drawing
  20 minute (or more) observational CONTOUR LINE drawing.  Set up a still life with 3-4 objects.  You will need to  go very slowly!  Follow the edge of the objects. Draw what you see, not what you think you see.  Pay attention to all the curves etc... This should be a highly developed drawing and show evidence of at least 20 minutes of work.
 Upload  picture Blackbaud under  'Virtual Choice"' by 4:00 pm Friday 1/22.

2. Choice Board  (Classwork)
Complete one of the activities on the choices board.  Choose a different one each week. 
     
Upload  picture  to Blackbaud under "Project work,"  by Friday, 4:00pm.

3. Choose your favorite (again, no repeats! Put your name and artist on the slide before you begin so others can see who has been chosen. Do it early so you can get the one you want!)

     Do a 5 minute observational drawing in your sketchbook putting together all the techniques we have learned so far.         Contour line, gesture line, value etc...

4. Add it to your Portfolio slide presentation

2.  Complete this worksheet
3. Watch this video on Contrapposto
4. Watch this video on gesture drawing figures - draw along with video
5.  Go to this website Line of Action
     Click on the settings:
     Cover and Clothing: Only Covered 
     Include: Both
     Ages: Adult
     Kind of Session: Class Mode
      30 Seconds
      Click: Get Drawing
You will do 5 30 second drawings (timer is in upper right corner. Image will automatically change after 30 seconds.  and 5 1 minute poses.
6. Upload the worksheet  and drawings to Blackbaud, by end of the day of your normally scheduled class day.

Part B- (11/19 or 11/20)

 1. Warm up -Find someone willing to pose for you, or use the Line of Action website.
     (see part A #5,  above for line of action settings.

     Complete 5 - 30 second life gesture drawings 
                               and
     Complete  5- 1 minute life gesture drawings

2. Classwork- Complete one of the activities on the choices board.  
   Choose a different one each week

3. Upload  a picture of your work to Blackbaud, by end of the day of your normally scheduled class day.

4. Add it to your Portfolio slide presentation  
     New  art students:  Create a new one.
